first of many camping trips

We were lucky enough to have a one night getaway over in Silver Falls State Park last weekend. We had a great time camping. The whole weekend was awesome to say the least (before and after the trip as well). They had a nice little day use area with a wading stream that Lucy was very hesitant of. We got the very LAST camping spot too! We got there around 5:30 and there were only 2 spots left, reserved for a handicapped spot. They couldn't give them up until 7pm, but they couldn't promise us that they wouldn't be taken. We were so lucky... one got taken and we got the last one :) The ranger "reserved" it, in that he told all the others after us that there were no more spots...

Wet model Lucy.

hot model Daniel.

The falls that we couldn't hike down to... no dogs allowed. We love Lucy, but I was soooooo bummed about this. We'll go back someday without her :(

tasty treats.

our amazing foil dinner that will definitely be made again... mandarin chicken, potatoes, and corn on the cob (not pictured above).

and... us :)

We did end up sunburned, but it was well worth it and neither of us peeled, just a little more brown. We can't wait to put a little more dirt in our tent and find more great camping spots :) Maybe next time something a little more out in the middle of nowhere.

Hi Courtney!

Have you ever been to Cascadia State Park? It's more remote, and they do have a few great hiking trails that lead to some pretty sweet falls. Best part is, they allow dogs, so Lucy can enjoy them too :).

That looks like so much fun, and your pics are looking awesome. We're going to be driving out there tomorrow to pick up my sister from the Bob and Colleen Everton's house. If you guys are around, maybe we could stop by for a quick second and say hi. Our daughters will be with us, so you'd be able to meet them this time. If not, no biggie, just let me know!

We wanted to go camping there last summer, but Christopher ended up in the hospital with apendicitis. It is so beautiful! My family had a Loftus reunion there every year growing up. Great memories.
