I know this is my personal blog... but I am pretty excited about this birth story. It is also posted on my photo blog.

bloom

{forest grove, or}

spring is here. the sun is shining (more than it has been) and flowers are blooming. with the warmth of the season, the coming of our little boy is drawing closer.

we've been very busy lately, but have also found time for some fun. we've spent as much time as we can outside, going to parks or just on a walk. the past 2 saturdays were spent at garage sales (tis the season). we have found some awesome finds, including:
a pretty much brand new Joovy Caboose stroller (original packaging)

a bread machine, a child size white rocking chair, and some antique (awesome and colorful looking) children's books from the 1930's: titles including Huckleberry Finn, Swiss Family Robinson, etc. We have 10 of them. Oh... and Dan got an 80G hard drive for $5.

outrage!

i don't know how many of you will think this is funny... but i got a big kick out of it.
nikon recently released it's fancy new D3x and it's a spendy baby.

hahahaha... so great.

new life

My more than amazing friend, Kim, was gracious enough to invite me to the birth of her little boy, Asher Briggs. I was extremely excited for the birth and was really inspired by THIS amazing photographer to capture this priceless moment. I was so honored and grateful that Kim wanted pictures of her this event in her life. I am still in awe of the miracle of life... I thought I was before through studying the things that I have, but nothing compares to seeing a new life enter into earth. again, thank you Kim! I love you!

the adoption ceremony

a little bit ago i posted some pictures of the newest blaisdell siblings. here are some pictures from the ceremony... finally:

on arrival. they were excited to see Dan




the judge had the girls sit in the witness box and asked them if george really stole the chickens.


then they got to go to the big seat... the judges seat.


and had LOTS of fun




then... the judge signed the official document




brian made this gum and on the other side it said "We chews to stick together forever. Blaisdell Family"

i have the most beautiful best friend. just look at her.

this saturday we spent most of the day together and we went to a gorgeous spot (thanks Sean!) and took some maternity and family pictures for this lovely family. i love you Kim!

families are forever

tomorrow, these two adorable little girls are officially family. they've felt like family since they came to live with the Blaisdells (my mother and father-in-law). tomorrow is the adoption ceremony and they'll be sealed to the family in december, when more family members are in town.

yesterday evening i got to do a fun fun fun shoot with my little sister and her "best friend forever"

things have been crazy busy and it's hard to pull dan & i away from each other if we're both home and he isn't working... so i haven't spent a ton of time editing wedding photos. there will be more to come eventually. a bunch of stuff has been added on my plate all at once, which i am actually very happy about. but, i am excited for these wedding photos. it was the second best wedding reception i have ever been to in my life, the first being my own of course ;) ... not to mention a beautiful couple (with a beautiful family) inside and out.

p.s. why do pictures always seem to have weird colors on blogger?

last thursday we joined our lovely friends at shute park to catch lindsey pool and ryan shupe & the rubberband. it was a hot evening filled with fun music and awesome company.

so tired... and sweet

in other news. somehow i hurt my back and the worst thing for it, the thing that hurts the most, is sitting... yes sitting (driving is slightly worse). my computer time is laying on the floor or couch on my stomach. my life is so lame right now, i can't stand it. at least i am catching lots of the olympics, which i love, making me feel only slightly less bored. i went to the chiropractor this morning and am going again tomorrow morning, cross your fingers that i'll heal soon. i have an all day in service on thursday (full of sitting) and ashleigh and i are shooting a wedding on saturday. let's hope for as little pain as possible.

i don't have my own cute kids to take pictures of yet. others' kids will have to do.
last week we again went swimming with the janeways. it's really relaxing to just float in the pool and talk after a long day. especially for brayden since sean made him his own little float boat out of funoodles. i had to jump out and capture this magnificent contraption.






then on sunday we took an afternoon walk around the "neighborhood"

Today I joined Mandee and Kim for play group at the Tyson Rec Center park and we followed that up with some yummy lunch at Panera bread for a late birthday lunch, which was delicious. And we ran into Zach. And I stupidly gave away his seat. Sorry Zach.
